West Front Street--Block Forty-Two, Original Town.

Front Street establishments from left to right: W. I. Strickland, J. T. Kearney, H. Fritzen, McCord & Co., Geo. Burster, A. H. Waite (E. P. Armstrong, basement. Times, second floor front.), and I. K. Tegtmyer (Lyman Taylor, basement. A. M. Cavan, second floor front. Odd Fellows, second floor rear.).

This block is the location of the big fire in July 1894. Above are the new structures which have been built since that time. The McCann lots just west of Strickland's are still vacant, as is the Strathman lot which appears in the cut.
