KIWANIS CLUB – The Kiwanis Club planted flowering crab trees along the T. P. & W. Railroad, from U. S. 51 east to Adams where buildings and parking lots permitted. They have also planted trees of several kinds to replace elms which were destroyed by the Dutch elm disease.

During the 1960's and early 1970's the Kiwanis Club sponsored a series of travelogs which were presented during the winter in the high school auditorium. Through movies presented by the man who took the pictures, many of the marvels of far-away places were presented to appreciative audiences. The latest service project which the Kiwanis Club sponsored was a fund for the benefit of the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Robertson, Jr. The parents were killed in an automobile accident on February 2, 1974 along with four of their children and Ben Carey. With the efforts of the Kiwanis Club $2,811.51 was collected and is being held in Trust for the benefit of these two children at the Woodford County Bank. The donations were made by El Paso residents and many checks came in from surrounding towns.
